This shocking, and sometimes sickening, film, was shot by camera crews that accompanied the British and American soldiers who liberated the Nazi concentration camps in 1945, as World War II was just coming to an end. The film itself was never quite finished because as it was being produced, the British government decided that it was too graphic for public consumption, and hence it lay in the archives of the British Imperial War Museum until its first public showing in 2008. Some parts have no soundtrack, but it has been put together as the producers had planned in the original script. |
