This news-documentary report examines the situation in Central Asia. With the war currently being lost in Afghanistan, the west is afraid that a stronger Taliban may begin to influence the region, and Islamic fundamentalism may then spread. However, some locals feel that this new spread of extremism from Afghanistan into neighbouring nations, including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, is mostly due to the dictatorial governments who violently suppress their populations in those ex-Soviet republics.
