Reverend Martin Luther King Jnr was assassinated in Memphis in 1968. He was the leading civil rights leader in the US at the time, and it is thought that he was gunned down by US-govt elements who were unhappy with how effective he was becoming, and with the power that he had. This film exposes some of the important facts that back up that assumption, one that is now held by King's family, amongst many others. Some of King's friends, who were with him on that fateful day, appear throughout the film. We also learn about the hatred that J Edgar Hoover had for King, and of his differences with President Johnson. |
