The second in a trilogy of films made by the BBC to mark the 30th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. It deals with how the western world treated Iran when it became an Islamic republic, an ideology which the west feared could spread throughout the entire Middle East. They were attacked on all sides, economically, militarily, and politically, and they were sidelined in international politics. We hear from Iranian presidents & world leaders telling the story of how both sides were working to get some common ground, but it seems Iran was never going to be included. |
