We know that there are many thousands of black holes within the middle portion of our galaxy, but a question has arisen over the past century as to whether there is a massive single blackhole at the very centre of the Milky Way. Along with some unproven scientific anomalies pointing to one being there, we have also observed this exact thing in many other galaxies. It appears that all/most galaxies have some sort of a large black hole right in their centre, and the larger the galaxy, the larger the black hole. This film charts what we know about the one in the middle of the Milky Way (which may be the Sagittarius A star), with appearances from some of those who are leading this investigation. |
