Money As Debt - Cartoon Explaining The Creation Of Money

If you think you know how money is created and how the monetary system operates, chances are you are probably very wrong. Paul Grignon's cartoon details the creation of money and the workings of the monetary system that most of the world uses, called the 'fractional reserve system'. He explains how the vast majority of our money is created out of thin air, by banks, every time someone takes out a loan. They then charge us interest on the money which they have magically created. This system also creates a cycle of eternal, ever-increasing debt for the entire population, who don't actually own their own money, and have no real control over the supply or value of it.
