Steal This Film II explores the massive changes in the way we produce, distribute and consume media, with a special emphasis on the current war raging against the P2P networks. Ever since Napster the music industry has been trying to kill file sharing, and this film shows us that the entertainment industry has effectively succeeded in driving that particular technology out of the commercial mainstream, and now they are hell-bent on suing individuals for downloading media without permission. This policy sets about to intimidate the mass public by punishing a few, but is this system working for the industry? And can they realistically sue us all? |
