The Betrayed: The Armenian Genocide
Film by: BBC Correspondent
Year: 2003
Length: 43 mins
Hosted By: Google Video

Just a couple of decades before the Nazi genocide of the Jews and other minorities, the Armenian people of modern-day Turkey suffered their own genocide. It was barbaric on a huge scale, the governments of the entire world are now aware of it, but it's still not officially recognised by the leading powers. The US was to push for the term 'genocide' to be attributed to the Armenian population's nightmare, but pressure from Turkey made them break their promise, and worse still, the Turkish people do not seem to be fully aware of what happened 100 years ago. This film charts their denial as much as the genocide itself.
