The real story behind this film is the way some members of a totally innocent family were butchered by the FBI & US Marshalls, and how the American government & security agencies went on to attempt to cover up what went down. Jon Ronson would usually be known for adding a touch of sarcasm to the stories he tells (similar in style to Nick Broomfield and Loius Theroux), and Channel 4 might have expected more of a "conspiracy" based programme, but instead, what we got is Randy Weaver, along with his daughter Rachel, giving us 1st hand accounts of the Ruby Ridge siege, and a very human story it is too. When listening to their accounts, and how their family has been impacted, its clear that Ronson thankfully decided against going down that route.
