Docudrama with the 'Tipton Three' (Ruhal Ahmed, Asif Iqbal and Shafiq Rasul) narrating their journey from being captured as enemy combatants in Afghanistan, to their time in the notorious Guantanamo Bay detention camp. These three young British Muslim lads had originally travelled with another couple of friends to Pakistan, for a wedding, and had ventured across the Afghan border to help with aiding the relief effort in Afghanistan, just as the invasion took place, and only days after 911. The Northern Alliance, who were fighting alongside the US-led coalition against the Taliban during the invasion, then captured these lads, and handed them over to US forces. Subsequent to this film being made, two of the Tipton Three - Ahmed & Rasul - have admitted to holding weapons at a Taliban training camp, but have continually expressed that their primary aim to travel over the border, was to help with the relief effort, and they only happened to stumble upon the camp for a short while. Even if they did partake in training, this still does not excuse their violent torture by the United States. |
