The BBC Horizon team have broached a subject in which we should be much more interested in - the effects of sensory deprivation on the human mind - by carrying out a scientific test. For the test six members of the public have volunteered to be deprived of all sensory stimulation for 48 hours. The findings by Professor Ian Robbins, who treated some of the British ex-Guantanamo detainees, and Dr Tim Green, a Psychologist, are explosive. In the era of Guantanamo, mass hostage taking and with the increasing use of solitary confinement in the jails of many countries around the world, any testimonies made by people kept in such conditions are completely rubbished in this film.
