This list ranks the amount of press freedom in most of the World's nations, with some smaller nations excluded. Usually presented in reverse order, this chart is more commonly known as the 'Press Freedom Index', and it is put together by Reporters Without Borders (Reporters Sans Frontières). It is compiled through a 40-question questionnaire which is filled-in by journalists, researchers, jurists and human rights activists around the World, and it does not measure human rights violations or the quality of journalism, it just concerns itself with basic press freedoms.
