This is an alphabetical list of the widely-recognised overseas territories in Europe. This list includes inhabited and uninhabited territories, some of which have broad-ranging self-governing powers, but many are also governed directly by their respective foreign administrating governments. Within this list, two territories (Aland Islands and Svalbard) have added status internationally, as 'special entities', but they are also administered in a similar way to many others in this list.
