Awarded by Fédération Internationale des Associations de Footballeurs Professionnels (FIFPro) at the end of each season, the FIFPro World Player Awards are held in high esteem because they are chosen by the professional footballers themselves, who hail from a combined 42 different national associations. A 'Special Young Player Of The Year' award is also chosen through a public vote by fans.
