The most populous continental region in the World is South-Central Asia, with almost 1.8 billion people living in the area.

This region includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The United Nations estimates that during 2010, South-Central Asia had a population of 1,780,472,513 people, just beating Eastern Asia's 1,563,951,360.

Around 25% of the World's total population currently resides in South-Central Asia.
