This video, and the exchange within it, shows how big business and politicians make backhand deals to line their own pockets, without a care for the public purse. Here in Ireland we have many ghost estates, and instead of finding ways to give these houses to homeless people, and to those on the housing list, the ruling party's (Fianna Fail/Green Party) have made deals with developers to pay them rent on their worthless property's, until the market picks back up, and the deluge of empty houses begin to find buyers. What a waste of money, as the then Senator Pearse Doherty of the Sinn Fein Party - who is now elected into the main house as a TD (MP) - explains to Michael Finneran, the Irish Minister for Housing & Local Services at the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government. |
