Cluster bombs, which have been widely used for the past 40 years and are still manufactured today, disperse submunitions that can potentially kill anyone within 50 meters. Beyond their initial destruction, those explosives that do not detonate on impact essentially become landmines that cam remain a threat for decades to follow.
