For the past few years the Free Gaza Movement and the Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief (IHH) have organised ships to bring aid to the devastated people of Gaza. On the 30th of May 2010, one such flotilla left Cyprus loaded with supplies, and hours later (May 31st, 4.30am) the MV Mavi Marmara was boarded by the IDF, as part of Operation Sea Breeze, with fatal consequences. Nine activist deaths have so far been confirmed (eight Turkish nationals, and one Turkish-US dual-citizen) and a total of six ships were seized during this attack. The MV Rachel Corrie was taken in a subsequent attempt, and Challenger 2 aborted, due to prior technical difficulties.
Please help us to create an independent permanent online record of events - one of many we hope - by emailing us with your recommendations, including IDF vids, survivor accounts, news footage clips, etc.
